Edge School U15 Prep Head Coach Leland Mack has been named the Director of Scouting for the WHL’s Prince George Cougars.
Mack has been a scout with the Cougars the last six seasons, but will transition into a full time Director of Scouting role with the club for the 2025/26 season.
Prior to his time with the Cougars the Calgary, AB product was a scout with the Seattle Thunderbirds for 10 WHL campaigns, including during the 2016/17 season when the Thunderbirds were crowned WHL Champions.
Mack joined the CSSHL with BWC Academy during the 2013/14 U16 Prep season. He would spend four seasons with the team, winning a 2017 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship. In four seasons with the BWC Academy U16 Prep team he would go 78-28-13.
Starting in 2017/18 he would take over the BWC Academy U15 Prep team, compiling a record of 58-31-7 in four seasons.
In 2021/22 he would join the Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX), returning to the U16 Prep division. NAX would finish a division best 32-4-0 before beating second place Edge School in the finals to capture the 2022 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship.
Mack would then join Edge School for the following two U15 seasons, going 39-14-2. This past U15 Prep season Mack led Edge School to a 26-8-2 record and second place regular season finish.
Overall, Mack won two CSSHL Western Championships and went 233-85-24.
