Andy is currently the President of Okanagan Hockey Group Inc. (OHG). Under his leadership, OHG has expanded operations into Europe, United Kingdom and Eastern Canada.Ìý ÌýIn 2002, Okanagan Hockey Academy was the first hockey sport school recognized by BC Hockey.
As a leader in the industry, Andy has been instrumental in working with hockey governing bodies to establish Accredited Schools in Canada.Ìý He is a member of the Hockey Canada’s Sports School Committee, which has been working together since 2007 to establish Hockey Canada Accredited Schools.Ìý Andy was elected as the Chair of the BC Hockey Schools Committee from 2014 to 2018.Ìý He was a BCHL Executive Committee member for five years and was awarded BCHL Executive of the Year for two consecutive years, 2009 and 2010.
Andy is a founding member of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL).Ìý Andy has held multiple positions on the Executive Operations Committee since the leagues inception, including Vice-Chairperson (2012-2013) and Chairperson (2011-12 and 2013 – present).
Andy’s passion is hockey.Ìý Not only does he work daily in this field, he gives back to his community by volunteering as a coach with Penticton Minor Hockey Association.

Committee Member: Patrick Turcotte
Patrick is the Director of Male Hockey at Ontario Hockey Academy in Cornwall, Ontario, where he has led the program since 2010. Over the past 15 years, he has overseen its growth to five competitive teams and was active in expanding the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) into Eastern Canada.
A graduate of the University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Patrick also brings valuable insight from his playing career in both the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) and USports. His leadership and passion continue to drive player development and program excellence at OHA.
Patrick was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario and currently resides there with his wife and two young children.

Committee Member: Maco Balkovec
Maco serves as the Executive Director of RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna, a premier program within the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL).ÌýSince joining RINK Hockey Corp. in April 2021, Balkovec has been instrumental in expanding the RINK and RHA brands throughout British Columbia, following the acquisition of Pursuit of Excellence (POE), a founding CSSHL member. He has helped build RHA Kelowna into a Championship caliber program with teams winning 6 Championships during his tenure.
With over two decades of experience in education and coaching, Balkovec has held positions at Bowling Green State University, Burnaby Winter Club, CSSHL, and in Wisconsin High School Hockey.ÌýHis tenure at Burnaby Winter Club involved building their Academy, developing long-term athlete development plans, and establishing key relationships within major hockey organizations such as the WHL, NCAA, BCHL, and BC HockeyÌý.ÌýAs Vice Chair of the CSSHL from 2015-2019, he contributed to policy development, the creation of an Education Committee to standardize classroom expectations, and facilitated league expansion from 13 to 18 programs.
At RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna, Balkovec oversees both the operational and developmental aspects of the program, working closely with staff to provide a comprehensive hockey and educational experience.ÌýHis leadership emphasizes character development, academic excellence, and athletic performance, aligning with RINK’s mission to foster 360-degree student-athletes.
Committee Member: Nichole Collins
Nichole is currently the General Manager of the family owned and operated Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, and is the first female general manager within the CSSHL.Ìý Nichole has extensive experience in human resources; leadership; business management; organizational optimization; and community sustainability that stem from both her professional career and various community volunteer commitments.
Committee Member: Kelly Shields
Kelly is the owner and Director of Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (PCHA) located in Langford, BC. PCHA was founded in 2013 and was the first Hockey Canada Accredited School on Vancouver Island.
Kelly attended Brandon University and Bemidji State University on a hockey scholarship and majored in Sports Management before playing 4 years professionally. He has extensive experience in coaching and management – from grassroots hockey as a head coach, skill development coach and coach mentor for a MHA, to High-performance hockey working with the BC Hockey POE U16 program as a coach and evaluator, and also as a goaltending and Assistant Coach in the BCHL.
Serving on the Board of Governors since 2014, Kelly has volunteered on numerous CSSHL committees such as the Discipline, Marketing, Competition and Scheduling committees. A strong supporter of the Hockey Canada development model and advocate of sanctioned programming, Kelly is excited to be elected to the EOC and looks forward to the opportunity.
Kelly was born and raised in Victoria, BC where he lives with his wife and two daughters. Away from the rink he enjoys being a dance Dad and spending time with his family.
