The CSSHL Featured Games of the Day for February 14 & 16, 2025 will feature a U18 Prep matchup and a U15 Prep game.

You can catch all of the action live on FloHockey.

Friday, February 14, 2025 – 10:00am MST: GFL Twin Arena

Prairie Hockey Academy (24-4-0) vs Northern Alberta Xtreme (23-2-3) U18 Prep

The first place Northern Alberta Xtreme (Devon, AB) and eighth place Prairie Hockey Academy (Caronport, SK) have met just once this season, on February 9th. Prairie would take that game on home ice with a 3-2 overtime win, as Hubert Larose scored just seven seconds into the extra frame. Prairie and NAX sit first and second in goals against, and goal differential, and third and second in goals for.

Prairie is led by a goaltending duo that has given up just 56 goals in 28 games this season. Micah Davidson (14-1-0) and Cameron Beisal (16-2-1) ranked first and third with a 1.80 and 2.18 GAA. Davidson leads the CSSHL U18 Prep division with a .938 SV% and 4 shutouts, while his 14 wins place him second. Offensively, Henry Thunderblanket (13-39-52) sits one point off the league lead with 52 points in 28 games. Rylan Emigh (11-34-45) and Larose (20-24-44) find themselves inside the Top 15 and on the plus side of 40. Seven Prairie skaters have at least 20 points while all skaters (minimum 15 games played) find themselves with double digits. Captain Ryland Molde (6-28-34) leads the Prairie defensive core with 6 goals, 28 assists and 34 points.

With 69 goals against in 28 games, Nate Stevens (11-1-1) and Tyler Swanson (12-1-2) find themselves fourth and ninth in goals against average, with Stevens sitting sixth with a .924 SV% and tied for third with Beisal with three shutouts. 2007 born forward Ben Deacon paces the NAX offence with 33 assists and 46 points in 27 games. NAX has relied heavily on their depth this season, with 13 skaters having 20 or more points and all but one player having double digit points. That singular NAX skater is defensive defenseman Reid Soper (1-4-5), who is a 2024 WHL Draft second round pick who has made his WHL debut with the Lethbridge Hurricanes this season. Darius Hordal (7-25-32) leads the NAX defensive core with 32 points, good enough for sixth among all U18 Prep defensemen. With 14 goals, Saskatoon Blades prospect Liam Eisnor (14-11-25) leads all U18 Prep defensemen.

Sunday, February 16, 2025 – 10:45am PST: Planet Ice Delta – Canadian

Yale Hockey Academy (20-8-2) vs Delta Hockey Academy (20-9-0) U15 Prep

This will be the third and final game between the two sides with the series currently tied 1-1. The visiting side has won both games with third ranked Delta Hockey Academy (Delta, BC) taking the first matchup on November 8 by a score of 7-3, and eighth Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford, BC) taking the rematch 3-2 in November 30.

Yale is led offensively by a 2011 born first-year player in Parker McMillan (23-26-49). The Semiahmoo, BC forward leads the team with 23 goals and 49 points in 29 games this season. Defenseman Christopher Kokkoris (3-32-35) leads Yale with 32 assists while sitting third with 35 points. His 35 points are 22 more than any other Yale defender this season. Michael Kuzik (15-23-38) sits second in team scoring while Tony Cabelka (16-18-34) and Tanner Massey (18-14-32) each have 30-plus points this season. In net, Mason Sutherland (9-4-1) and Gavin Craig (10-4-1) have each played in 16 games this season, combining for a 3.04 GAA, .905 SV% and 3 shutouts.

With 70 goals against in 29 games Delta has given up the third fewest goals against this season. Jack Utsunomiya (9-4-0) sits second with a 2.14 GAA and sixth with a .920 SV%. Along with Quinn Coupland (11-5-0), the duo has a combined 4 shutouts, 2.35 GAA and .911 SV%. Forward Peter Banicevic (23-35-58) sits fifth in league scoring with 58 points. His 35 assists are 10 more than next closest on his team, while his 58 points are 14 ahead of Tripp Fischer (23-21-44). Ryker Doka (12-17-29) leads all Delta defensemen with 12 goals, and is tied with Charlie Leonard (4-25-29), leads the d-core and sits second on the team with 25 assists, with 29 points. Prairie has accumulated the most points (54) and has the best points percentage (.857) in the U18 Prep division this season. Having recently been named the November Player of the Month, Moose Jaw Warriors prospect Micah Davidson (10-1-0) leads the division with 10 wins, while his 2.00 GAA and .929 SV% rank fourth and sixth. Offensively, Henry Thunderblanket (9-31-40) rides a hot streak that has seen him record 18 points in his last 6 games to launch him into second in league scoring with 40 points. His 31 assists leads all U18 Prep skaters. Hubert Larose (17-19-36) and Rylan Emigh (9-25-34) both find themselves in the Top 10 point leaders. Prince Albert Raiders prospect Ryland Molde (4-22-26) and Moose Jaw Warriors draft pick Benson Hirst (12-11-23), who leads all defensemen with 12 goals, sit third and fifth among defensemen in league scoring.

Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (13-7-1) vs South Alberta Hockey Academy (11-7-3) U18 Prep

Sitting in the fifth and ninth spots in the MYHockey Rankings, Pacific Coast Hockey Academy (Victoria, BC) and South Alberta Hockey Academy (Medicine Hat, AB) will meet for the first time this season on Saturday.

PCHA has accumulated the fifth most points (39) and scored the seventh most goals (91) so far this U18 Prep season. In net the veteran duo of Sam Saskiw (7-4-1) and Liam Russell (6-3-0) have posted a .906 SV% and 3.24 GAA. Spokane Chiefs prospect Sullivan Humeniuk (6-19-25) sits fourth among defensemen in points, and fifth in goals. The trio of Trace Anderson (15-16-31), Jed Lake (12-15-27) and Parson Shahi (9-18-27) lead the Pacific Coast offence. 2007 born forward Jordan Ramsay recently returned to the Pacific Coast lineup and should continue to be a welcomed boost to the offence, having already posted two goals and one assist in two games.

Boasting a roster with 11 WHL prospects, SAHA has scored 103 goals in 21 games, third most in the U18 Prep division. Despite this offensive prowess, SAHA does not have a single skater inside the Top 40 for league scoring, though 12 players have double digit point totals this season. Calgary Hitmen prospect Ty Hynes (10-13-23) and Medicine Hat Tigers draft pick Avery Watson (7-15-22) lead the team in scoring this season. Prince Albert draft pick Ty Krooshoop (2-19-21) leads all SAHA skaters with 19 assists while his 21 points rank sixth among all defensemen. Tigers draft pick Brayden Ryan-Mackay (8-11-19) leads the team with a 1.36 points-per-game average. Sunday, December 15, 2024 – 8:15am PST: Summit Centre – East

OHA Edmonton (13-7-1) vs Yale Hockey Academy (8-9-0) U18 Prep

OHA Edmonton (Edmonton, AB) and Yale Hockey Academy (Abbotsford, BC) have yet to meet during the 2024/25 regular season. The two teams currently sit side-by-side in the MYHockey Rankings, with OHA Edmonton holding down the 11th spot, and Yale occupying the 12 seed.

OHA Edmonton finds themselves inside the top five for offensive output with 95 goals scored this season. Forwards Calum Giese (15-12-27), Red Deer Rebels prospect Nolan Schmidt (10-16-26) and Parker Fitzgerald (11-14-25) all sit on the plus side of 20 points this season. Defensemen Josh McKague (4-16-20) joins the forward trio in this feat, leading the team with 16 assists. Edmonton Oil Kings prospect Parker Snell (6-4-1), who is fresh off his first WHL shutout, and Ethan Edwards (7-3-0) have split the games in net this season, posting a 3.16 GAA and .909 SV% with 1 shutout each.

Usually finding themselves near the top of the CSSHL standings, Yale has struggled this season with a losing record and a goal differential of plus 1. With a talented roster that includes 11 WHL prospects and an experienced coach in Adam Nugent-Hopkins, Yale hopes a showcase on their own turf will be the turning point they need this season. Kelowna Rockets 2023 second round pick Eli Barrett (9-15-24) leads the team in scoring as the lone skater with more than 20 points this season. Swift Current Broncos prospect Jayden Oleskiw (8-10-18) and Alexandre Jacques (5-13-18) sit second and third in team scoring. Kyounghun Oh (2-14-16) leads the Yale defensive core with 16 points, while his 14 assists trail only Barrett’s 15 this season. Nathan Kam (5-5-0) has played 10 of the 17 Yale games to date with a .903 SV% and 3.41 GAA.
