48 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) alumni competed at the Centennial Cup in Calgary, AB.

12 of those 48 CSSHL alumni would help the Calgary Canucks be crowned Centennial Cup Champions as they defeated the Melfort Mustangs and their 7 CSSHL alumni 7-2 in the finals.

The Centennial Cup see’s the nine Canadian Junior A Champions and one host team compete for a Canadian National Championship. The 10 teams are split into two pools of five:

    • Kam River Fighting Walleye (SIJHL)
    • Northern Manitoba Blizzard (MJHL)
    • Grande Prairie Storm (AJHL)

    • Calgary Canucks (HOST)
    • Edmundston Blizzard (MHL)
    • Braves de Valleyfield (LHJQ)
    • Melfort Mustangs (SJHL)

The 48 CSSHL alumni represented 9 of the 10 teams competing in this years National Junior A Championship. The hosts and back-to-back AJHL Champion Canucks led the way with 12 CSSHL alumni. The Grande Prairie Storm, who lost in the AJHL Final to the Canucks, sit second with nine CSSHL alumni.

Four current or former CSSHL student-athletes have signed in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) ahead of the roster deadlines.

Rafael Cloutier and Lynden Larsen have signed in the QMJHL, while Jackson Kostiuk and Ethan Merner have signed in the WHL.

Cloutier joined Bourget College ahead of the 2021/22 East U17 season. In 33 games the Pointe-Fortune, QC forward had 9 goals and 8 assists. The following East U18 season he would record 5 goals and 8 assists in 14 games with Bourget. The Clarkson University commit has signed with the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, having recorded two points in three games so far this season.

A forward from Verdun, QC, Larsen has spent the 2024/25 CSSHL East U17 season with Selwyn House School recording a team best 11 assists and 16 points in 5 games. Larsen, who was selected in the fourth round, 63rd overall at the 2024 QMJHL Draft, has played six games with Acadie-Bathurst Titan, tallying two assists.

Selected in the 10th round, 216th overall by the Saskatoon Blades at the 2021 WHL Draft, Kostiuk has signed with the Prince Albert Raiders, recording one assist in two games. The East St. Paul. MB forward played three seasons in the CSSHL with RHA Winnipeg at the U15 Prep and U18 Prep levels. In 71 career CSSHL games he recorded 89 points, including 47 during the 2022/23 U18 Prep season. Kostiuk has spent the last two seasons in the MJHL with the Steinbach Pistons, tallying 34 points in 29 games this season before joining the Raiders.

Merner joined Okanagan Hockey Academy for the 2019/20 U15 Prep season, producing 12 points in 30 games. The Kelowna, BC forward would have three points in two U15 Prep games with Yale Hockey Academy the following season before recording 44 points in 32 U17 Prep games in 2021/22, leading to the Calgary Hitmen selecting him in the fourth round, 80th overall at the 2021 WHL Draft. Committed to NCAA program Merrimack College, Merner has signed with the Hitmen.

The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed former CSSHL student-athlete Ethan Simcoe to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.

The Lac du Bonnet, MB netminder spent three seasons in the CSSHL with RHA Winnipeg. He would join their U15 Prep team in 2020/21 going 1-0-0 with a 1.01 GAA and .909 SV%. The following U16 Prep season Simcoe played 19 games, recording a 3.50 GAA and .910 SV%. His last CSSHL season was in 2022/23 where he went 11-8-1 with 3 shutouts, a 2.57 GAA and .930 SV% in 21 U18 Prep games with RHA Winnipeg.

Simcoe was originally selected in the fourth round, 70th overall by the Swift Current Broncos at the 2021 WHL Draft. He was also selected in the sixth round, 79th overall by the Virden Oil Capitals at the 2022 MJHL Draft.

Former Banff Hockey Academy and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) coach Harry Mahesh has been named an assistant coach in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Canucks.

Mahesh spent four years in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) in both assistant and head coaching roles. During the 2016/17 season he was with the Banff Hockey Academy (now South Alberta Hockey Academy) as an assistant coach.

The Vanderhoof, BC product would return to the CSSHL in 2018/19 as the PMHA U17 Prep head coach, leading his team to a 19-4-1 record and second place regular season finish. The following campaign Pilot Mound would finish the regular season in first place with a 17-6-1 record, before capturing their first ever CSSHL Western Championship.

During the 2020/21 COVID-19 shortened season Mahesh split duties as the PMHA U17 Prep head coach and assistant coach in the MJHL with the Winkler Flyers.

He would join the Winnipeg Freeze the following season as GM/Head Coach, becoming the first ever General Manager of South Asian descent in Canadian Junior A Hockey.

This past season he worked as a Development Coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former RHA Winnipeg student-athlete Aidan Litke has signed an ECHL contract with the Wichita Thunder.

The Winnipeg, MB forward joined RHA Winnipeg for the 2017/18 U15 Prep season tallying 20 points in 30 games. The Portland Winterhawks would then select Litke in the sixth round, 129th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

The following U16 Prep season he would finish fourth in team scoring with 43 points in 36 games. Litke would spend the 2019/20 season with the RHA Winnipeg U18 Prep team, recording 31 points in 21 games.

During the 2020/21 COVID-19 season he would tally 8 points in 5 MJHL games with the OCN Blizzard, while adding 1 point in 10 WHL games with the Winterhawks.

He joined Portland full time the following season, finishing with 30 points in 63 games. He would set a career high the following year with 23 assists and 36 points in 50 games. In 2023/24 Litke played 9 WHL games with the Edmonton Oil Kings, scoring 4 times and assisting on 7 more goals.

The 2024 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) Draft took place June 2nd with 20 current and 6 former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athletes being selected. An additional 7 CSSHL student-athletes were Auto-Protection selections.

The top 2008-born Manitoba players who were not auto-protected were eligible to be selected in the draft. Prior to the MJHL Draft, teams may submit up to two (2) Auto-Protect selections from their designated home zone. During the Auto-Protect process, teams have the option to decline an Auto-Protect selection and defer that pick to Round 7 or 8 of the draft.

RHA Winnipeg led the way with 23 players selected including Layne Schofield who went first overall. Pilot Mound Hockey Academy had 8 players selected while Notre Dame and Prairie Hockey Academy each had one. 8 of the 13 first round picks played in the CSSHL either this season or last.

The Dauphin Kings have signed six current or former CSSSHL student-athletes ahead of the 2023/24 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season.

Gabriel Bugeaud and Aiden Murray each played the 2021/22 U17 Prep season with Notre Dame. In 33 games, a forward from Terrebonne, QC, Bugeaud finished third on his team in scoring with 36 points. A product of Decker, MB, Murray would finish second among Notre Dame defensemen with 29 points in 33 games.

A forward from Medicine Hat, AB, Elias Eisenbarth spent three seasons in the CSSHL. During the 2020/21 U16 Prep season he would score two goals in three U16 Prep games. In 2021/22 he would return to his hometown and spend two seasons with the South Alberta Hockey Academy (SAHA) U18 Prep team, recording 18 goals and 24 assists in 66 games.

Joshua Gamble played three season in the CSSHL with Notre Dame. In 2019/20 the Calgary, AB product would tally two points in seven U15 Prep games. The following U16 Prep season he would record three points in six games. His last season in the CSSHL would be with the Notre Dame U18 Prep team in 2021/22 where he recorded 16 points in 31 games.

Gavin Nemis joined RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg for the 2020/21 U15 Prep season, tallying seven points in two games. In 2021/22 he would finish with 25 points in 36 U16 Prep games. The Winnipeg, MB forward would suit-up for the U18 Prep team this season, scoring 7 goals and assisting on 19 more in 32 games.

A forward from Morden, MB, Rhett Perrin joined the RHA Winnipeg U15 Prep team in 2020/21, tallying one goal in two games. The following U16 Prep season he would finish second in team scoring with 29 points in 32 games.

Prairie Hockey Academy student-athlete Ty Pratte has signed with the Winkler Flyers for the 2023/24 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season.

The Moose Jaw, SK defenseman spent three seasons in the CSSHL with Prairie, originally joining in 2020/21. That season Pratte would tally three assists in six U16 Prep games. In 2021/22 Pratte would finish tied for second among all CSSHL U17 Prep defensemen with 35 points in 34 games. His 35 points and 30 assists were a team high.

In 33 games this season Pratte would lead all CSSHL U18 Prep defensemen with 30 assists and 36 points. Pratte’s 30 assists were most on his team while his 36 points were tied for second. Pratte was named a 2023 CSSHL U18 Prep Prairie Division 2nd Team All-Star.

Former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) student-athlete Myles Mason has committed to Nichols College for the 2023/24 season.

Mason joined BWC Academy’s U16 Prep team for the 2017/18 season, recording 16 points in 35 games. The Vancouver, BC forward would play for the West Van Academy U18 Prep team the following two seasons, finishing with 5 goals and 15 assists in 72 games.

In 2020/21 Mason would head to the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) with the Swan Valley Stampeders, spending three seasons with the team. In 110 MJHL games Mason tallied 14 goals and 21 assists.

Located in Dudley, MA, Nichols College is an NCAA Division III program.

The Winnipeg Blues have signed a total of seven current and former RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg student-athletes for the 2023/24 Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) season.

Matthew Dewey Dewey has spent the last four 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) seasons with RHA Winnipeg. The Oak Bluff, MB forward joined the program in 2019/20, producing 8 points in 15 U15 Prep games. He would add five points in three U16 Prep games the following season, before playing for the RHA Winnipeg U18 Prep team the past two seasons. In 55 U18 Prep games Dewey has recorded 45 points.

A defenseman from Winnipeg, MB, Blake Goretzki has spent the last two seasons with the RHA Winnipeg U18 Prep team. In his first year with the team he would record 5 goals and 19 assists in 36 games. This season he would finish second among RHA Winnipeg defensemen with 21 points in 34 games.

A seventh round pick, 133rd overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers at the 2022 Western Hockey League (WHL) Draft, Brody Green played for RHA Winnipeg during the 2021/22 U15 Prep season. In 30 games the Winnipeg, MB forward would finish second in team scoring with 48 points in 30 games.

Cole Penner joined RHA Winnipeg for the 2021/22 U16 Prep season. In 19 games the Winnipeg, MB forward would score 1 goal and assist on 9 more. This season Penner would record 4 goals and 14 assists in 29 U18 Prep games.

Peyton Pieczko has played alongside Dewey all four seasons the two were in the CSSHL. During the 2019/20 U15 Prep season he would record 16 points in 30 games. In two seasons with the U18 Prep team he has tallied 36 points in 66 games, including a career high 23 points this season.

A defenseman from Winnipeg, MB, Lincoln Ponce joined the RHA Winnipeg U15 Prep team in 2021/22, finishing with 4 goals and 16 assists in 30 games. This season Ponce would finish first among RHA Winnipeg defensemen, and second amongst all CSSHL defensemen, with 34 points in 34 games.聽 In five playoff games he would add two goals and seven assists as RHA Winnipeg captured the 2023 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Championship.

Tyson Vouriot spent three CSSHL seasons with RHA Winnipeg. He joined the U15 Prep team in 2019/20, producing 19 points in 30 games while being named to the CSSHL All-Academic Team. The Winnipeg, MB forward would spend the following COVID-19 shortened season with the U16 Prep team before suiting-up for the U18 Prep team in 2021/22. That season Vouriot would finish with 7 goals and 9 assists in 36 games.
