Last month saw 33 Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú (CSSHL) alumni compete at the 2023 Centennial Cup in Portage la Prairie, MB.

Included in the alumni were Aiden Celebrini, Aiden Fink, Caelan Fitzpatrick, and Luke Marshall who played for the Brooks Bandits. For the second straight year Brooks were named Centennial Cup Champions, with Fink leading the way with 13 points in 7 games while being awarded the Centennial Cup MVP, Top Forward and Top Scorer awards.

RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg (11) and Prairie Hockey Academy (6) made up the majority of the CSSHL alumni while OHA Edmonton (4), Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (3), NAX (2), and Notre Dame (2) each had multiple alumni participate. Banff Hockey Academy (1), BWC Academy (1), Edge School (1), Mount Academy (1), Okanagan Hockey Academy (1), Okanagan Hockey Ontario (1), South Alberta Hockey Academy (1) and Yale Hockey Academy (1) all had one former student-athlete participate.

Four-year Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) student-athlete Alli Pahl will be making the jump to NCAA Division I next season when she joins the University of St. Thomas.

Pahl joined the CSSHL Female U18 Prep division in 2017/18 spending two seasons with Banff Hockey Academy. In 2019/20 the Medicine Hat, AB defenseman would join RINK Hockey Academy Kelowna, spending two years there. In 56 CSSHL games Pahl has recorded 1 goal and 8 assists.

The University of St. Thomas is located in St. Paul, Minnesota and competes in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).

Banff Hockey Academy (now known as South Alberta Hockey Academy) alum Erik Garber will suit up for the Arizona State University (ASU) Sun Devils for the 2021/22 season.

Garber spent the 2016/17 season in the Canadian Sports School Hockey League (CSSHL) playing for Banff Hockey Academy’s U18 Prep team.

He has spent the past four years playing in the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) with the Cochrane Generals, posting a 2.95 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.

ASU competes as an independent in NCAA Division I.

Banff Hockey Academy alum David Kyu-Ho Min has been named as a Youth Player Development Coach for the National Hockey Leagues newest franchise, the Seattle Kraken.

Min will be one of the coaches tasked with youth programming at the Kraken Training Center, including Learn to Skate, NHL Learn to Play, recreational and competitive programs. These programs will begin in Seattle this fall, offering both adults and youth the opportunity to learn and develop their game.

A member of the 2014/15 season Banff Academy U18 Prep team, Min recorded 34 points in 30 CSSHL games.

After two years spent split between the NA3HL and USPHL Elite, Min has spent the past four years as Head Skills Coach and Assistant Hockey Director with Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association. He comes to the Kraken with an impressive coaching resume that includes USA Hockey Level 4 Coaching Certification and Goaltending Bronze certification and is an on-ice skills instructor and evaluator for USA Hockey.

After three seasons in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú, Dawson Milliken is off the British Columbia Hockey League’s Wenatchee Wild.

Milliken, 17, attended the Okanagan Hockey Academy this past season, where he competed on their U18 Prep Red team, registering 26 points (14-12-26) in 32 regular season games.

The Canmore, Alta. product spent the previous two seasons attending the Banff Hockey Academy, playing both seasons on their U18 Prep team. In two seasons at Banff, Milliken had 27 points (17-10-27) in 37 regular season U18 Prep games, as well as one assist in six games at the Midget Varsity level.

Milliken, a six-foot-one forward, made his BCHL debut this past season, appearing in one game with the West Kelowna Warriors.

A total of nine Âé¶¹´«Ã½Èë¿Ú student athletes have been named to SaskFirst rosters, which were announced today by the Saskatchewan Hockey Association.

With the cancellation of the SaskFirst Female Tournament which was set to take place April 10-12, the selections for both programs were completed using player evaluations conducted at the identification camps back in February.

Kalli Hiebert (Saskatoon) of the Banff Hockey Academy, Jayden Lawson (Beechy) of the Edge School, Scut Anderson (Saskatoon), Jordyn Bear (Ochapowace) and Kyla Bear (Ochapowace) of the Okanagan Hockey Academy and Calli Arnold (Dodsland) of the Pursuit of Excellence were all named to the SaskFirst Female U18 Top 29 roster.

Janelle Evans (Bethune), Keyra Buziak (North Battleford) and Julia Duke (Regina) of the Okanagan Hockey Academy were each named to the SaskFirst Female U16 Top 34 roster.
