Former Yale Hockey Academy defenseman Graham Sward has signed an AHL Contract with the Manitoba Moose.

The Abbotsford, BC product spent two seasons in the CSSHL with Yale’s U15 Prep team. During the 2016/17 season he would tally 9 points in 30 games. The following campaign Sward finished with 18 points in 26 games, leading to the Spokane Chiefs selecting him in the first round, 17th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.

Sward joined the Chiefs in 2019/20, playing in 55 games and recording 17 points. The following year he would play in just 11 games but the Nashville Predators would select him in the fifth round, 146th overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.

He would begin the 2022/23 season with the Chiefs, playing eight games with the team before being moved to the Winnipeg Ice. Sward would finish the season with 33 points in 52 games with the Ice, adding 12 more points in 19 playoff games.

This past season Sward had 15 goals and 66 assists in 66 games with the Wenatchee Wild, earning him WHL (US) First All-Star Team honours.

The Moose have assigned Sward to the ECHL with the Norfolk Admirals to begin the 2024/25 season.

Former CSSHL student-athletes Parker Berge and Rhett Parsons have signed AHL Contracts for the 2024/25 season.

Selected in the eighth round, 157th overall at the 2018 WHL Draft by the Regina Pats, Berge joined the Northern Alberta Xtreme for the 2019/20 season. In 36 games the Edmonton, AB defenseman would record 7 goals and 21 assists. Berge would spend the following three-and-a-half seasons with the Pats, tallying 15 goals and 60 assists in 181 games. During the 2023/24 season he would be traded to the Everett Silvertips, finishing his WHL career with them by tallying 3 goals and 22 assists in 30 games.

Berge has signed with the Ontario Reign for the 2024/25 AHL season.

Parsons was selected in the fifth round, 99th overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers at the 2018 WHL Draft. The Cremona, AB defender joined Edge School for the 2018/19 U16 Prep season, recording 8 goals and 20 assists in 35 games. The following U18 Prep campaign he would have 6 goals and 21 assists in 32 games. Parsons would join the Tigers for the 2020/21 season, spending all four of his WHL seasons with the club. In 219 WHL games he would finish with 17 goals and 35 assists.

Parsons has signed with the Toronto Marlies ahead of the 2024/25 AHL season.

Former Northern Alberta Xtreme (NAX) student-athlete Charlie Wright has signed an AHL Contract with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

A fourth round pick by the Saskatoon Blades at the 2018 WHL Draft, Wright joined NAX for the 2018/19 U16 Prep season. He would lead all defensemen with 35 points in 36 regular season games, earning CSSHL U16 Prep Top Defenseman Award honours. The Olds, AB defender then added four points in five playoff games as NAX were crowned 2019 CSSHL U16 Prep Western Champions.

He would join the Blades the following season, spending five years with the club. In 256 career WHL games Wright recorded 15 goals and 88 assists. This past season he was named a WHL (East) Second Team All-Star after recording 35 points in 68 games.

Former Banff Hockey Academy and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy (PMHA) coach Harry Mahesh has been named an assistant coach in the American Hockey League (AHL) with the Abbotsford Canucks.

Mahesh spent four years in the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) in both assistant and head coaching roles. During the 2016/17 season he was with the Banff Hockey Academy (now South Alberta Hockey Academy) as an assistant coach.

The Vanderhoof, BC product would return to the CSSHL in 2018/19 as the PMHA U17 Prep head coach, leading his team to a 19-4-1 record and second place regular season finish. The following campaign Pilot Mound would finish the regular season in first place with a 17-6-1 record, before capturing their first ever CSSHL Western Championship.

During the 2020/21 COVID-19 shortened season Mahesh split duties as the PMHA U17 Prep head coach and assistant coach in the MJHL with the Winkler Flyers.

He would join the Winnipeg Freeze the following season as GM/Head Coach, becoming the first ever General Manager of South Asian descent in Canadian Junior A Hockey.

This past season he worked as a Development Coach for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former Pursuit of Excellence (POE) and Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) coach Jessica Campbell has made NHL history being named the first woman assistant coach in league history.

The Seattle Kraken announced July 3 that they had hired Campbell as an Assistant Coach, making her the first woman in the history of the NHL to be named an assistant, associate or head coach in the league.

Campbell joined the 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) as an assistant coach with the RHA Kelowna, formerly POE, Female U18 Prep team in 2017/18. She would spend two seasons with the team before joining OHA as an assistant coach with their Female U18 Prep team in 2019/20.

The Moosomin, SK product would spend two seasons in Europe as a skating coach before returning to North American in 2022/23. Campbell has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach in the AHL with the Coachella Valley Firebirds.

Campbell played two seasons for POE, tallying 174 points in 71 games. She would go on to spend 4 seasons in the NCAA with Cornell University, recording 100 points in 131 games. Campbell would play three seasons in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) with the Calgary Inferno producing 50 points in 63 games.

Internationally, Campbell has a U18 Gold and Silver Medal for Team Canada while being named MVP with a tournament best 15 points in 2010. She captured another silver medal with Team Canada at the 2015 Women’s World Championships.

Former Edge School assistant coach Morgan Klimchuk has been named as an assistant coach in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose.

A former first round NHL pick by the Calgary Flames at the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Klimchuk tallied 267 points in 261 WHL games before a pro career that lasted 274 AHL and 1 NHL game.

In 2021/22 he would join Edge School as an assistant coach wit their U15 Prep team. The following season he would join the Victoria Royals as an assistant coach, spending two season in the WHL.

Former Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) student-athlete Scott Walford has signed an AHL contract with the Syracuse Crunch.

The Coquitlam, BC defenseman spent the 2014/15 season in the CSSHL with the OHA White U18 Prep team. In 28 games he would tally 6 goals and 15 assists, before adding 3 points in 3 games as OHA captured back-to-back CSSHL U18 Prep Western Championships.

Selected in the first round, 18th overall by the Victoria Royals at the 2014 WHL Draft, Walford made the jump to the WHL in 2015/16. He would spend 4 seasons with the Royals before finishing his WHL career in 2019/20 with the Saskatoon Blades. Overall he would tally 174 points in 290 WHL games, earning a 2018/19 WHL (West) Second Team All-Star honour in 2018/19.

Originally selected in the third round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Montreal Canadiens, Walford would spend the following three seasons with McGill University. In 59 U SPORTS games he would tally 55 points while being named a U SPORTS (OUA East) First Team All-Star and U SPORTS (OUA East) Most Sportsmanlike Player twice.

Walford would play five AHL games with the Crunch in 2023/24 to wrap up his season.

The Vancouver Canucks have promoted former 麻豆传媒入口 (CSSHL) coach Yogi Svejkovsky to assistant coach ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Svejkovskyoined the Canucks organization in 2021/22 as a Skills Coach with their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Abbotsford Canucks. He would spend the 2022/23 and 2023/24 season as a Skills Coach with the Canucks.

A veteran of 113 NHL games and 70 in the AHL, Svejkovsky joined Delta Hockey Academy as head coach in 2015/16 at the U15 Prep level. He would spend the 2016/17 season with the Delta Elite 15s (U16 Prep) as head coach before joining St. George’s for two seasons as a head coach and Head of Hockey Operations.

Svejkovsky would return to Delta in 2019/20 as their Lead Skills Coach & Director of Development as well as coaching their U17 Prep travel team. He would retain the same roles in 2020/21. After joining the Canucks in 2021/22, Svejkovsky has spent the past three seasons as a Guest Skills Coach with Delta.

Svejkovsky started his coaching career in 2006/07 as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Giants in the Western Hockey League (WHL). He would transition into a skills coach for two seasons with the Giants, the last of which was his first year at Delta.

Former CSSHL and current Moose Jaw Warriors forward Atlee Calvert has signed an American Hockey League (AHL) contract with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.聽

Calvert joined Prairie Hockey Academy in 2017/18, tallying 53 points in 40 U15 Prep games. The following season Prairie would join the CSSHL at the U16 Prep division. Calvert would lead his team in goals (24) while finishing second in points (41) in 35 games.

During the 2019/20 season the Moose Jaw, SK product played 13 WHL games with the Moose Jaw Warriors, tallying 3 points.

Undrafted to the WHL, Calvert would play 24 games with the Warriors in 2020/21 during the COVID-19 shortened season, finishing with 2 goals and 7 assists.

In 2021/22 Calvert would finish sixth in team scoring with 40 points in 65 games. Last season was a breakout year for the Warriors forward as he finished third in team scoring with 73 points, while leading his team with 40 goals in 67 games.

In 68 games this season Calvert set career highs with 47 goals, 48 assists and 95 points. He would finish second on his team and 14th in the WHL in points, while his 47 goals were also second on his team and sixth in the league.

Calvert would add 20 points in 20 playoff games as Moose Jaw captured a 2024 WHL Championship and spot in the Memorial Cup. He would record 2 points in 4 Memorial Cup games as the Warriors were eliminated in the semi-finals by the eventual champions, Saginaw Spirit.

Former BWC Academy netminder Thomas Milic has signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jets selected the Coquitlam, BC netminder in the fifth round, 151st overall at the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Milic would spend the majority of the 2023/24 season in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose, playing 33 games and finishing with a 2.72GAA and .900SV%.

Milic spent the previous three seasons in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Seattle Thunderbirds, posting a 60-23-5 record, 8 shutouts, a 2.35GAA and .917SV% in 91 games. During the 2022/23 season Milic would help Seattle capture a WHL Championship while being named to the WHL (US Division) First All-Star Team, the WHL Playoffs MVP, and WHL Top Goaltender Award winner while leading the WHL with a 2.08GAA and .928SV%. He would help Canada capture a Gold Medal at the 2023 World Juniors.

Prior to his WHL career Milic played three seasons in the CSSHL with BWC Academy. In 2017/18 he would be named the CSSHL U15 Top Goaltender, capturing that award again in 2019/20 in the U18 Prep division. Milic would also lead the U18 Prep division with a .946SV%. After the 2017/18 U15 Prep season he would be selected by the Thunderbirds in the third round, 51st overall at the 2018 WHL Draft.
